Prague’s Heaven

There are two hostels run by the Hostel Praha people, and Prague’s Heaven is the one most people agree stands out. It is on the edge of Prague’s New Town, a short tram or Metro ride from the many sights of the Old Town but located in the midst of where real Czech people live and work. The tourist crowds in the Old Town can get suffocating, so sometimes it is nice to get out of the area when you are done sight seeing – and having a hostel in the New Town is perfect for a place to get away. The good news is that the hostel is well served by public transportation, including the night tram, so you do not need to worry about being stranded in the city center after a late night of partying with friends.

Guests at Prague’s Heaven can choose from private rooms or dorm style rooms, so you just need to decide how much privacy you want and how much money you want to save. The private rooms range in size from singles up to five beds in a room, and come with either private en suite bathrooms or shared bathrooms (the latter will save you more money). As is the case with most hostels, the dorms make use of shared bathrooms and will cost the least amount of money.

Some of the amenities you will find at Prague’s Heaven are:

  • Free linens
  • Breakfast available for a fee
  • Laundry service for a fee
  • Basic guest kitchen
  • Terrace and meeting room available
  • Transport service available

Prague’s Heaven does not have reception service 24 hours a day, which helps it cut costs and pass the savings on to you. This just means that you will need to arrange your check in and check out times during the hostel’s open hours. Also note that the hostel accepts only cash for payment when you arrive.

The accommodations at Prague’s Heaven are basic, certainly, but the hostel is clean and safe, the location is good and the prices are great. And really, what more do you need?
