New Garden Hostel

The New Garden Hostel is in the Mirador Mansion building on Nathan Road in the Tsmi Sha Tsui neighborhood of Kowloon. This location grants easy access to some of the city’s best shopping, entertainment and restaurants, and it is also easy to get to most of the tourist attractions from the hostel as well. It was once called “Kowloon Hostel,” and has been a hostel in Hong Kong for more than 30 years.

Rooms at New Garden Hostel range from single rooms up to family rooms (which sleep four), with doubles, twins and triples in between. The staff boasts theirs are the largest rooms you will find in any hostel of the same class as this one, but just remember that all hostel rooms in Hong Kong are small. All the rooms have private en suite bathrooms and telephones with free local calls.

Be sure to ignore people claiming to be from New Garden Hostel, and instead get yourself to the hostel from their own directions. There are issues in Hong Kong with people pretending to be representatives of various hostels and then leading you to different ones, so just be careful.

New Garden Hostel is not the fanciest hostel you have ever stayed in, but if you are looking for a basic no frills room with a stellar location in Hong Kong, this one certainly fits the bill. And as an added bonus, they actually take credit cards (unlike many Hong Kong hostels).
