Lisbon Lounge Hostel
Lisbon Lounge Hostel claims to be the first hostel opened in Lisbon (April 2005); and, really, it does not really matter whether or not that is actually true. What matters is that this ultra-cool hostel is open now. The hostel is in central Lisbon, within walking distance of many of the might tourist sights and the most popular nightlife area (Bairro Alto) – and also close to a few forms of public transportation for when your feet get tired.
There are only nine rooms at Lisbon Lounge Hostel, which range in size from private rooms for one to dorm style rooms for eight, so the hostel is cozy and friendly. There are six big bathrooms, all of which are shared, and – in keeping with the hostel’s name – three lounge areas where you can relax and meet other guests.
Some of the amenities you will find at Lisbon Lounge Hostel are:
- Free linens (towels available)
- Free breakfast
- Free coffee and tea all day
- Free internet access and free WiFi access
- Luggage storage and security lockers
- Guest kitchen and laundry facilities
- Three lounges and on-site mini bar
- No lockout and no curfew
- 24 hour reception and 24 hour check in
Lisbon Lounge Hostel is located in the Baixa neighborhood, Lisbon’s historic center, but the historic exterior is combined with a delightfully modern interior. This location is actually a new one for the hostel, which just opened this newer – and larger – hostel in March 2007. The decor is fresh, colorful, clean and inviting – just like the hostel itself.
Be sure to take advantage of the friendly staff at Lisbon Lounge Hostel, who are on hand 24 hours a day to help you plan the best holiday in Lisbon, or who can help you enjoy a quiet night in one of the hostel’s lounges with a movie or a game.
