Il Ghiro Guesthouse

If you want a cozy place to stay in Florence, then Il Ghiro Guesthouse is just the thing. It is a short walk from the main train station and most of Florence’s main sights are within walking distance, too, so it is perfectly situated for an easy stay in this fabulous city. Even with this central location, however, the hostel still boasts views of the lovely hillsides in the distance beyond the hostel’s own garden.

With only five rooms, Il Ghiro Guesthouse is the very definition of cozy. Three of the rooms have en suite bathrooms, and the remaining two rooms share one bathroom between them - so even in the rooms which are sharing a bathroom you will not find long lines for the shower! There is a communal kitchen shared by guests, but every room has its own TV/DVD player combination. And while each room is called “double” or “twin,” you can request an additional bed when you check in if you need one.

Il Ghiro Guesthouse is on the third floor and there is no elevator, so keep that in mind, and the reception desk is not opn 24 hours a day. You must check in between 8:00am-1:00pm or 4:00-8:00pm. Once you are checked in, however, you are free to come and go as you please, with your own key - it will likely feel rather like you have your own house in Florence!

Even if Il Ghiro Guesthouse is full, you will have no trouble getting to know the other guests - with only five rooms and one kitchen to share, it is easy to make new friends while you make dinner together. That kind of cozy charm is often worth its weight in gold.
