Hostel Marabou
Just outside Prague’s city center, in the historic Art Nouveau district called Zizkov, you will find Hostel Marabou. It will take you less than 15 minutes to get from the hostel into the Old Town, so it is a great option for anyone who does not want to pay the high prices often found in the center of Prague. Certainly there are plenty of things to do and see the Old Town, but even right around Hostel Marabou there are lovely pubs, restaurants, night clubs and other places to hang out with friends.
The room you select at Hostel Marabou just depends upon how much privacy you want, and how much money you want to spend. You can splurge on a single private room with your own private en suite bathroom, or you can spend a fraction of the cost of that room on a bed in a dorm style room with 11-14 beds in it. The choice is yours, but it is great to have all those options available to you. Oh, and there are lots of choices between those two extremes, as well.
Some of the amenities you will find at Hostel Marabou are:
- Free linens, towels available
- Free buffet style breakfast
- Free internet access
- Free welcome drink of traditional Czech beer
- On site bar and game room
- Luggage storage and security lockers
- Laundry facilities and guest kitchen
- 24 hour reception and 24 hour check in
- No curfew or lockout
Hostel Marabou offers a 5% discount for students and a 10% discount for groups of 15 or more people traveling together, so gather up your friends for a trip to Prague! Then, once you are all at the hostel, challenge your friends to a friendly game of foosball pool in the Hostel Marabou lounge – the loser has to buy the rest of the beer, after the free first Czech beer you get when you arrive at Hostel Marabou.
The Hostel Marabou staff are always on hand to help you with any travel questions you might have, from where you should spend your time to the best way to get around and much more. So even though this hostel is not right in the center of everything, its warm and friendly atmosphere (not to mention the free welcome beer!) make it a great choice in Prague.
