As far as location goes, Hostel Cosmos is hard to beat. It is in central Amsterdam, a four minute walk from Central Station and within walking distance of most of the city’s major tourist attractions - including Dam Square, the Anne Frank House, the Rembrandt Square and the famous Red Light District. And if the fabulous location were not enough, the hostel has a resident cat so you can get a pet fix while you are away from home. (Of course, if you are allergic to cats, that is another problem entirely.)
Every room at Hostel Cosmos has a TV and a sink, and the rest of the bathroom facilities are in shared bathrooms down the hall. Guests can choose from dorm style rooms or private twin rooms or quad rooms, so you can decide how much privacy you want after you have socialized with the other guests in the lounge.
Some of the amenities you will find at Hostel Cosmos are:
The Hostel Cosmos does have an age restriction - guests must be between the ages of 18 and 35 to stay - but that should not be a problem for most backpackers! Generally, this means you will be surrounded by people who have similar interests and experiences to you, so it should be really easy to make friends. The other restrictions at the hostel include no bookings for stag/hen nights or sports tours, among other things, so even though the hostel provides a social and party atmosphere, you know you will not be overrun by one large group that takes over everything and does not let anyone sleep.
The location of the Hostel Cosmos cannot be beat, and the friendly and enthusiastic staff make staying there extremely pleasant. If you are looking for a nice balance between social and laid back, Hostel Cosmos might be just what you wanted to find.
