Cosmic Guest House
Despite its Nathan Road address, Cosmic Guest House is not the kind of place you have heard about. Its location in the giant Mirador Mansion building in the Tsim Sha Tsui area of Kowloon is pretty quiet (especially considering the bustling street it sits on), and it is not far from many of the tourist sights in Hong Kong. You will be able to walk or take public transport anywhere you want to go.
Rooms at the Cosmic Guest House are kind of spacious (by Hong Kong standards, anyway) and are spotless. Most of the rooms have private en suite bathrooms, with only some of the single bedrooms using shared bathrooms. There are everything from singles up through rooms with four beds in this hostel, and while most of the rooms are considered private rooms, some of the four-bed rooms are mixed dorms with two sets of bunk beds.
Some of the amenities you will find at Cosmic Guest House are:
- Free linens and towels
- Internet access and WiFi
- Luggage storage
- Laundry service
En route to Cosmic Guest House you might find people claiming to represent the hostel who want to take you there personally, but according to the hostel you should ignore them and follow the directions to the hostel yourself. Apparently everyone wants to piggyback on the success of this fine hostel, but do not be fooled by imitators.
The Cosmic Guest House might not be glamorous, but it is super clean and safe, and it is clear that someone has made an effort to erase the clinical feel from the rooms with an attempt at cheerful decor. That attitude transfers to the staff, as well, who are extraordinarily helpful and eager to please. They can assist you with any of your travel needs, from restaurant recommendations to assistance with visas. And they do it all with a smile.
