The Aloha Hostel’s name might give you some indication of the laid back and relaxed atmosphere the owners are trying to create - and what is more, they succeed, too. The founders were backpackers, so they know what backpackers want! Aloha’s central location allows guests to save money on transportation and walk to most of Paris’s major sights - including the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, the Champs Elysees, the Musee Rodin, the Musee des Armees and the Boulevard Montparnasse. And, of course, anything you cannot reach by walking is easily reached by the fantastic Paris Metro. There is a Metro station not far from the front door of the Aloha Hostel, so it is easy to get around that way when your feet are tired.
It is easy to tell that the Aloha Hostel’s founders are former budget travelers, because they provide all kinds of perks that travelers want and need - the things that make budget travel possible. It is things like a free breakfast every day and a fully equipped guest kitchen in which to cook other meals that can help stretch your travel budget; and the hostel’s helpful and friendly staff are full of ideas to help you save money in other ways, too, while still getting the most out of your visit to Paris.
Some of the amenities you will find at the Aloha Hostel are:
While the Aloha Hostel does not provide linens and towels free like many hostels are doing these days, by not making these things available for free to every guest they are able to keep their prices low. Another thing that helps keep costs down is that Aloha has a curfew and lockout period - this means they do not have to pay someone to be at the front desk 24 hours a day. The hostel is closed between 11:00am and 5:00pm, but this is the time when you will be out exploring Paris anyway. The hostel’s curfew is 2:00am.
With limitations like a lockout period and no free linens you might not expect the Aloha Hostel to be on our best hostels list - but that just shows you how great the vibe is at this hostel. The friendly atmosphere and central location help make the Aloha Hostel one of the best in Paris.
